What kind of tires come on the Windjammer?
Can someone tell me the brand of tires that come on the new Windjammers? We just ordered our new 3008w, and of course after you order, you remember all sorts of questions you should have asked beforehand, lol! Thanks for your help!

Every one on the lot where I work has Carlisles. I've learned the hard way over the years that doesn't mean that's what will be on your new trailer, but I'd say it's a pretty safe bet.
I like the front kitchen models, using the extra space up front for the kitchen-y stuff gives a lot more room in the trailer than, say using it for closets in the front bedroom models.

Thanks for the info! Not really familiar with Carlisles. I had Maxxis on my previous trailer and never had any kind of issues whatsoever. What kind of tread life can I expect with Carlisles?

Just from reading the forums over the years I suspect that blowouts, not tread wear, are the main concern for many folks. Just my impression, may be wrong.

I just recieved my 2011 2306 March 9th and I got the 14" upgrade with the Double step - The Tires are - "Karrier" Load Star
Never heard of them and not sure if they will be the same as what you are getting but figured since you asked about tires I would post up.

Our 2011 V-Lite came with Duro's and we took it over 6000km on one trip last summer with no issues at all. They are nitrogen filled so the pressure stays pretty much the same hot or cold. I also carry a digital temp gun and monitor all the tires on the truck and trailer at every stop and they all stayed within a few degrees of each other. I would not get over excited about having Duro's as I have had more issues with my Goodyear Marathon's than these Duro's. The important thing is to keep under 65mph and always have proper inflation.

Appreciate you sharing your experience with the Duro's, John. I am hopeful that my experience will be the same as yours, however the Duro's reputation is concerning, so I must admit I was a little disappointed yesterday. I even mentioned to the tech that did our PDI that we got the worst tires possible, and he smiled and didn't disagree. Only time will tell I guess, and it's good to know that there are some folks who have been trouble-free. I usally drive between 60-62, so I will definitely be taking it easy. I will still be looking to put on a set of Maxxis sooner rather than later.

Most of the problems you read about are with the duro bias ply tires. I have duro 2100 radials on mine and they are working out fine. Took a 1200 mile trip a few weeks ago with no problems. Same PSI reading as last fall. Haven't had to touch them other than check the PSI now and then. I also was worried after 'reading' how bad they are. Then with a little more digging found the radials have a better reputation. I also thought about changing them out, but decided to keep them.

Thanks for the encouraging report as well! I too, have the 2100 radials, and am starting to feel a little better about it, lol. Appreciate you sharing your experiences and helping ease my concerns.

Our 3008W is about a month old and it came with Trail Express Power Towing nitro filled tires. No real long trips yet so time will tell. I haven't seen this brand mentioned in any threads and very little info on the web.

My 2010 wildwood came with Duro. After 10 months they all had cracks around them. Duro made them good under warranty and let me upgrade to the 2100 radial for 20 a tire. The radial are so much better...
