Wifiranger

On the 8298ws 2018 were is the wifiranger antenna and the router, hear in the UK I would need a router with a 4/5g data sim, I would also require the option to hard wire some of my devices with cat 5e.

I have a 2909WS with WiFI Ranger and I don't know were is the router.
The antenna is on the roof and is on top of a box so I'm guessing that box is the router itself.
The only thing that is apparent from inside is the button to turn it on.
All cables run inside the cabinet/wall/roof.

If Rockwood are installing the wifiranger Sky3 ,the equipment should be ......"A complete network solution with indoor accessibility and outdoor range. *This package includes the indoor Core router and the outdoor Sky3 antenna, with the Sky3 ready to mount on a flat roof. The outdoor Sky3 is equipped with a Flex-guard antenna that can bend down to 5" clearance without doing damage to the unit, protecting against trees and other overhangs. *The indoor Core router provides a secure, private network for all of your wireless computers and devices. *The indoor Core router also has several LAN ports for hardwiring computers and devices. The Sky3 outdoor antenna brings in otherwise weak WiFi from Hotspots in the area to get your entire network online. The indoor Core is dedicated to providing the secure network and also allows for USB tethering a cellular 3G/4G Aircard or MiFi device. Add an USB cellular modem to your existing wireless carrier plan and have internet access anywhere you have cellular signal. Maximum flexibility and freedom." it would interesting to no were the router is located.

On my 2706, the OEM version of the Sky3 has no external router. Everything is contained in the device mounted on the roof. I believe the retail version of the Sky3 does have the external box with ports.

Thanks Ken
So you can only connect with local WiFi, or have you installed a router?

I have only connected to local WiFi systems. There's no provision for connecting a cellular router.

Frank,
No, the only wires in back of the panel for the ranger are the 12 volt power wires which run up to the roof, if I remember correctly. You can easily see back there by pulling the radio out. Maybe someone else can weigh in on this.
