Windjammer Build Time

Does anyone have an idea of how much time it takes to build a Rockwood Windjammer 3008W? I'm wanting to know how much time it takes from the time the chassis is rolled in to the time the completed camper rolls out the other end. Mine is supposed to go into production the first week of September. I ordered it on August 1st.

Yes: Longer than you want it to...
So sorry, I couldn't help myself. It is really hard to wait for something good when you just can't stand to wait! We were in a similar situation in that we bought the showroom model which wouldn't get changed out for almost 3 weeks from the day we signed the papers. Still, we could (and did) go visit it once or twice. Hope yours will be as problem-free as ours!

Well depending when the order gets to the production line it will take about 3 hrs to build. Scary huh. But that is how they run these through the line. We watched them build some Rockwoods when we where at the Rally and they are quick. Hope it's built well as are V-lite is built in the same factory as the windjammer. Later RJD

There's something about the Windjammers -- they're all built well.

X2 - and that seems to be the common theme on the forum from WJ owners. Built well, good options and amenities, pull very well. Mine is a little tongue heavy, but that was resolved with an Equalizer 1400# hitch, instead of the Trekker 1000# that the dealer installed.

We stopped at factory to look at a windjammer model we were interested in. There were about 100 windjammers and v lites there. Looked like delivery to a dealer could take extra time..

Wow. 3 hours?
Had no idea.
We have sure been happy with our V-Lite.

P.S. Ours took about 45 days from order to Idaho dealer.

Love our Windjammer. Haven't been out as much as we would like but, it is a great trailer.
Hope it doesn't take to long.
Have fun.

We ordered ours and it took 5-6 weeks early in the season. Delivered in May. Have had minor issues corrected. Overall we like it

Just a little FYI. My dealer said it will take 3 days to build my Windjammer. In regards to delivery. It is scheduled to be offline on September 21st. The offline day is the day it is scheduled to be finished then it goes to transport. Being it is a retail sold unit and my name is on it they mark it "HOT" meaning bring to dealer immediately. Thanks.

I have a 2016 windjammer 3008W and I need to know how to make the rig stop shaking when I enter and exit or walk around inside it. We have automatic stabilizers and use the tire locks but it's still shakes. I'm contemplating putting in manual jacks and maybe that will secure the shaking.

We didn't have this problem with our previous travel trailer.

Anyone have some insight in this!?! Please help!!

Calibabe212, I think the difference between your Windjammer and your previous travel trailer is that your previous one didn't have Torflex axles. I don't think the X-Chocks work as well with the Torflex axles.

I ordered mine with the manual scissor jacks. I've read too many horror stories about the electric jacks not retracting and that they don't put enough pressure on the ground to stop the shaking. My Mini Lite has the Tor-Flex axles as well and I put another set of manual scissor jacks directly in front of the axles, between the front axle and the steps, and it took all the shake and wobble out of the trailer. I was using the stack jacks initially but got tired of having to crawl under the camper to retrieve them, especially if it rained during my stay and the site was holding water. I will do this on my new Windjammer as well.

I use jacks near the tires on the frame each side to take some of the bounce out.

I picked up two of the screw type jack stands sold at all the RV stores and put them on the axle frame next to the wheels. That stopped a LOT of the shaking as you walk around in our 3001w; didn't stop it all, but it is a trailer after all. I use the X-chocks also but didn't expect them to stabilize the trailer, just keep it located where I parked it. Worked so far except that last campout ...but that is another post! I use the electric stabilizers and have found that I need to tighten them a little the first day or two of camping as they seem to settle a little. I just tighten them until I see the trailer raise slightly and we are good.
