Wired for back up camera

The power and ground lead are already installed in the camera housing at the back of the trailer. The camera is wireless to the monitor, which are sold separately.

So there is nothing we would have to purchase

You have to purchase either the Furrion Backup Camera System or the Furrion Observation Camera System. Both are sold on Amazon, Kmart, etc.

Because it's pre-wired, it's just screw camera into the already mounted housing and sync them up.

I bought the Observation Camera System ($280) because it's live all the time, which will help with lane changes.

Nickdog1 - We love our 2015 2703WS - you really can't go wrong with that layout and we are so pleased with our decision. If you choose to buy one would love to hear what you think and what changes you make to it. We have not gotten the back up camera yet but it does often come up in our discussions.

I just installed the observation camera. I noticed it is live all the time? Anyway to shut it off so it doesn't drain the battery?

Mine was prewired and I just installed it yesterday. If I turn my headlights off, or if on auto during daytime, the display screen will not sync with the camera. Hope that helps.

Mine was prewired to the running lights. It goes off when the lights are turned off. There is no off/ on switch on the camera that I know about. You can try going to Furrion website and search there.

There is constant voltage to the prewired connection on the back of my TT. I checked the voltage with electricity being connected to my home and just off of the battery. No vehicle was connected to the TT. So it is a direct connect to the battery.

It appears there are lots of models.. Will they all fit or is there a specific one made for each rig?

You should have a battery power switch on the trailer.

It only pulls 300 milliamp when in use. I actually kind of like the fact it is on all the time. I will look for the batter disconnect. When I store it I pull the battery anyway.

Wired for back up camera

I have a battery disconnect switch and use a battery shackle so I leave my battery on the trailer when it's in storage. Sorry if I got off topic.

We just got our trailer this month and plan to install observation camera. We looked this weekend, and on the plate covering the mounting bracket space there is information saying which observation or backup camera to install. Ours was on the outside of the plate. I read somewhere that you may have to remove the plate and the information is on the other side.
