Yamaha EF2400i surges

I have a Yamaha EF2400i. it supplies power to rig great but it also surges as it runs which is quit annoying. with nothing plugged in it runs smooth and with high power draw it is also smooth. when it's just inverter and maybe television its RPM jumps all over. Has anyone else had this problem and do you know a solution. I have already had carb off and cleaned what I could and ran a can of Sea Foam through it.

Carb dirty or air filter dirty or air leak between carb and engine

Try some Seafoam in the fuel. It cured the surging on my Class A Onan. I only run clean (non-ethanal) fuel in my Yamaha's to hopefully eliminate problems.

Seafoam works great. Follow instructions and let run for a few hours. I use sea foam treated premium gas now
