Charging & Solar
ALL Chargers are designed to do just that - Charge. None are designed and some, may be damaged if used to supply power directly!
Use the battery bank for 12Vdc and an inverter powered by the battery bank to supply 120Vac. When done properly (see images), 100% off grid is a no-brainer. The RV industry has not caught up to what the marine industry has been doing for decades - they had no choice - can't plug into the nearest dock in an ocean.
The solar panel assembly I manufactured, is expensive! It costs more than some TTs, but as you will see, it works and produces REAL Output in excess of 21.5 amps! Typically I can regain (charge back) 120-150 AH in a day (day is from 9-3, outside of that time or if some clouds output on all Solar will drop by 90+% ).
BTW, Zamp is on the bottom end of Solar. The kind I use comes from Germany, NOT China and is typically 8-10 times the cost, but as I said it works and WILL last 20+ years.
FYI, the battery banks I install are typically 800-1200 AH in size, the solar assembly is "snap" together in 10 minutes of eight 50Watt panels.
All items were installed in my TT initially and I R&R ed them to my RV when I traded it in. The dealer(s) said, "NO ONE in the TT or RV community off grids so there is no value of this upgrades to us for resale, even though it is brand new"
WOW?!
