2014 Suryeyor Cadet SC189 Emergency Exit Window

This window / emergency exit has a fly screen on it so we are wondering if it is able to be opened for normal use, or is it only intended to be used for emergency situations.

We have recently purchased the unit, the previous owner had never opened the window/exit. Currently it is not possible to be open the emergency exit, so do not want to force it, if it is a one time use installation?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
