247BHDS Home!!!

Yesterday my wife and I took delivery of our 247BHDS. This is our first travel trailer.

The drive home was 45 miles at 62mph. My initial thoughts are the truck and trailer are well matched. I am continually impressed with the ability of the F150 with the Ecoboost motor. There was plenty of power left in the truck. The trailer tracked great as well.

Once home, we set the trailer up in our driveway and stayed the night for a "shakedown" test. So far, so good. The first night was uneventful. All systems are working well and we are figuring out how and where we are going to pack everything.

We are a short 33 hours from pulling out of the driveway and taking our trailer on the road for a 4 night, 370 mile trip. We've spent the last week checking and verifying that all systems work and packing and organizing to our liking.

I'm still very happy that we chose the Surveyor line and still don't feel like we compromised in any way on this trailer. It truly was the benchmark for us.

We've got the same model and pull with an Ecoboost too! I love both. We have truly enjoyed our trailer and look forward to many more years. The features and space are great. Enjoy yours and travel safely.

Congrats! You will have SO much fun with her! When we got our first, we made checklists because seem to have the CRS disease. (Can't Remember Sh*t) We've even forgotten bread for a trip!! (Just about anything one needs, we've forgotten!)

Even this year, we had fresh corn on the cob to grill and both of us asked, at the same time, "Did you remember butter?" (Nope!) :-) Try cooking corn on the cob (inside the husk) right on the grill until it's dark brown all around and then husk it and it's the best tasting corn ever!!

We'll be camping in our in the street next week! We have a guy coming to refinish and restain our oak floors and forget paying $100 a night for a hotel room...we'll just stay outside! (We'll park it so the slide out opens towards the sidewalk.)

I should post pictures of the "campsite!" :-)

The maiden voyage went well yesterday. We left Everett, WA at 9AM and arrived in Winthrop, WA a little after 1PM. The trip took us from 8ft above sea level to 5477ft and back down some. Diablo and Ross Lake are absolutely beautiful! The trailer is performing well with full hook ups.

Truck and trailer pulled off to the side of the road.

I haven't tried the mount yet. However, as the Seahawks head to the Superbowl this year, our Sundays may require a fire, BBQ and neighborhood tailgating party!
