I can't tell you specifics about this model but can tell you about the kitchen with an island.
The island with the sink layout is great. It creates 2 paths front to back in the trailer so there's no need for one person to get out of the way to let another by. The island makes for good separation for a dedicated kitchen area. With the counter top sink cover, there is ample counter space when not using the sink. Things like cooking on a griddle or setting up a buffet style meal, there's a ton of room. This also leaves the counter space under the microwave for coffee pots, water filters, etc. The island just gives you a lot more space for cooking.
The only thing I don't care for on that design (at least on ours) is that you must push the slide out to access the refrigerator. Had they shortened the island by 1 1/2" or moved the fridge 1 1/2" towards the rear, you could open it without sliding out.
Overall, the Surveyor line seems to be a fairly well built trailer. We've had ours 1 year on 6/23/18. 31 nights out camping and countless driveway campouts with the kids, everything has held up well and only required minor adjustments.
