Rain possible later and won’t be home? Help?

The versions with rain sensors do. For the deluxe models with the intergrated cover it’s not necessary for it to be closed to keep the rain out.
That being said there are so many model variations both retail and OEM it’s impossible to say without an exact model number.

Until proven to work (even if the dealer told you so), error on the side of caution and Close it. My vent cover will allow small spray or mist inside on heavy rains.

If you have the type with the vent cover, covering the open/close vent lid, then I would not worry about it. If you don't have that vent cover then get it...

This Can be a Trick question! The "Maxxfan and Maxxfan Plus" have Tabs so you CAN just "Buy the FanMate Cover and Install with Clips" No Tools needed! You can also Buy a" Maxxfan Deluxe which has its own Rain Shield and Requires No additional Cover! MaxxAir makes "Other Style Covers" but the "FANMATE" cover works on the Auto Close fans! Youroo!!

As others said, depends on the model. The ones that came on our Rockwood have both covers and rain sensors. They have a sticker with a little blue umbrella on them. They stay open in a light rain, but in a heavy downpour there's enough spatter to trip the rain sensor and close them. (You also should clean your sensors with a toothbrush or abrasive sponge every year. We had one fail on our last rig because it was dirty. Soaked the bed.)

Had I noticed your previous post with the Amazon url, I would not have posted mine.
That said, I see no difference between the one I posted and the one you posted...dimensions are the same...only difference is color...yet one says something about not suitable for high output as you said. You see any differences? I bet they are none.

Look at your post #4. The vent you mentioned there has the same dimensions as the one I posted.
