can you access the floor from underneath?
If so then some reinforcement from underneath can help.
A thin piece of plywood glued down from the top maybe?
Cut the bad piece out, and replace with an exact sized plywood piece glued in. Glue in some holding strips to the bottom sides of the remaining floor first. Gorilla glue would be my choice, but play with it on some scraps first to learn it's characteristics.
Finally, a way to stiffen wood is to use something called Liquid Wood. Drill some tiny 1/8" holes into but not thru the existing floor. This two part thin epoxy product is poured into a network of these holes closely spaced, and it hardens and stiffens. There would be a bit of the epoxy solution over the top of the wood, but very thin so as to not be too obvious. Again play with it before doing the floor area.
Most floors are sandwiches of luan ( thin plywood) and foam between. With use and moisture, maybe from underneath the wood breaks down leaving only the spongy foam.
Hope this helps...
