For Furrion camera owners
I installed a Furrion camera right after purchasing my trailer and have used it on many trips. But now, for some strange reason, the bracket that holds the monitor screen will not stay attached to the windshield with the suction cup. It’s like the locking mechanism will not pull enough suction to hold. I can’t see where anything broke, but it wii not hold at all now. Pretty frustrating. I have been trying to figure out ways to “fix” it, but being on the road I haven’t come up with anything.

Clean the windshield?
Lick the suction cup?
Maybe the basics will work......

Personally I’ve had 3 versions of those suction cup windshield holders. They never stay on, even after a tight hold. I think it has something to do with switching from cold to hot constantly. Now I just drop it in a cup holder, the suction cup fits just fine.

I saw another post where someone attached the monitor to the rear view mirror with some of those hair scrunchies. I’m gonna have to try that, don’t need that mirror when towing.

Same issue and I finally gave up and bought an off the shelf suction cup with magnetic holder. Frys had the Naztech MagBuddy Windshield Mount on sale for $9.99. it works great, but I think any aftermarket mount will be better than the OEM Furrion...
This is the one:

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I have already been looking at after market solutions. Maybe I can hang it from the mirror somehow until I get back home.

we have not had any issues with the suction cup not holding.
1. ours gets attached to a weighted base available at Wal-Mart, Ebay etc.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bracketron-...-/173045313340
2. don't lick the suction cup. use a drop of baby oil or vegetable oil. Spit or licking evaporates - oil lasts longer in hotter conditions
just my experience.

Suction Cup not sticking
Ive had a number of these suction cups for my Garmin, a dash cam, a GoPro camera and now my Furion. When my suction cups stop working I usually use a little alcohol wipe from my glucometer supplies but I think any alcohol you buy in a pharmacy will work. I clean the spot on the window then the suction cup. Let them dry which won’t take long and you should be back in business. Hope this helps.

My suction cup always works for awhile (even when I alcohol clean) but after a few hours it drops. This is almost always in the summer when those 100 degree temps get the windshield really hot. Eventually, I gave up on the windshield suction bracket.
I bought a Garmin weighted base mount and modified the FURRION one to use it. I set it in the left corner of the dash and it never falls.

I use 2 elastic bands over the rear view mirror, it the natural place to look when wanting to know what behind you, and it works great. Found the suction cup mount cause a blind spot on the windshield.

I put the suction cups in a pot of boiling water for a minute and that seems to bring the cup back to its original shape and works fine for a few months. Clean windshield is also a must.

I just put a cheapo suction cup on the back to attach directly to the mirror. $.99 and it is replacable.

I took mine apart and put a fiber or nylon washer between the cam and the back of the cup holder.
It works much better.

I use zip strips and attach it to my rear view mirror. It works great that way. Hair stretches women use does sound like a great idea instead though.

This is what I use to mount my monitor:
It mounts on top of my dash and has 3M adhesive pad. It swivels in all directions, works great!
