Hide-a-bed Question

Just took delivery of and spent a weekend in a 287 BHSS. Love it with one exception. The jack knife sofa is not comfortable for our 17 year old daughter to sleep on. We do not want to use the dinette for her because it is a pain and not really any better. I am considering have the optional Surveyor hide-a-bed installed by the dealer. It is not cheap so, I am looking for any input from someone who has it and uses it. Is it big enough for an adult? Is it comfy?

I don’t know about the hide-a-bed, but with your daughter’s age, I don’t think I would spend the money. What we do is use an air mattress on top of the pulled out sofa. It works quite well.

X2 on the air mattress.

We seldom use our HAB, but when we do we have a INDEK queen size air mattress with pump and it's home is under a dinette bench when not needed. It wasn't that expensive.

We were thinking about having the dealer swap out the jack knife for a hide a bed too. The dealer said they would have to pull the slide to get the new sofa in... That's expensive... I would also recommend the air mattress..

we went with the hide a bed option but during our inspection my wife opened the bed and it would not open all the way. the bed was resting on the cross frame. the dealer had to send pictures and videos to forest river. i was told they would send a new hide a bed but i just got a call today from the dealer and forest river sent them new brackets. i believe they installed the wrong brackets. I hope it works out but I'm glad they do not have to remove the slide to put a new one in.

I appreciate the input. Wound up going with an air mattress (Aerobed) that worked out great and for much less money. It inflates and deflates quickly and we store it under the sofa. She said it was comfortable to sleep on.
