Door closing

We have a 2011 189 surveyor, have had only a few minor issues. Door closes without any problems. good luck with your dealer.

I would say go back to the dealer and hold his feet to the fire(if it is still under warranty) get it fixed, sale it(take your medicine) and start over.
Doesn't sound like you will be comfortable even if everything gets fixed. In the back of your mind you will be wondering what next is going to happen. That is not what camping is all about.

Well it gets a bit worse. We are packing up this morning and water is leaching under the bed storage. I have pictures. Appears that water is in the walls somewhere. I found some rotted wood in the compartment which means it has leaked there before. I never saw it until today.

I could not sell this unit to a person in good conscious. I really need FR to step up on this. I honestly don't see how they could fix this without tearing walls out. Disheartening.

I either need my money back or another unit like this one. I honestly think FR builds a good product but mine must have went through QC on a Friday at 4:45.

I am trying to keep good spirits about this. If anyone has a contact that might could assist, I would appreciate it.

More water in front storage. Notice how the flooring has turned.

Mine closes fairly easily for an RV door. Takes more effort than a car door if that is any guide. Matter of getting the latch to catch.

If your door is binding - that is rubbing against the frame of the doorway, then you may have some serious structural issues. Check for chipped paint along the edges and see if the hinge looks in order.

I'm afraid this is yet another example of why a used unit can be a good idea. We're quite happy with our 10-year old rig we bought two years ago.

"Overfilled the tanks" Thats a new one. Reminds me of the time I complained that our Gas range burner grates were chipping and sales guy told me I either overheated them or put to heavy of a pot on it. What did he think we were doing? I wanted to stick one of those kettles you see on the cartoons with the canniballs cooking up people and stick him in it. LOL Sometimes you wonder if these sales people think before they speak.

Actually that was a service mechanic that said that. Ugh. Anyway, we are back home and I am still trying to find out where water is coming from. Unfortunately it seems to be in the walls. Not the nose but from the driver side wall.

I am so stressed right now as I don't know where this is going.

Oh and my hitch light stopped working this morning. Maybe just a bulb but knowing my luck .... Well anyway.

At this point the leaking is my main concern over the popping axels. Somehow I think it's all connected however.

Call Rhonda at 574-534-3167 and ask her for the Surveyor Warranty Rep's number. When you get it would you please post it for everyone else.
The number I have is 574-642-3119, but she should be able to connect you with the actual rep.

Different vehicle but same stupid thought process. We had a new out of the showroom Sonata.
After 1 year the paint started to look like it was a 1960 Lacquer finish that was splitting everywhere. Red faded on top surfaces. Dealer asked me if I washed my car with Steel Wool and Bleach?
What sort of an insane question is that to ask someone? Anythin to get out of fixing a problem which should not have happened in the first place.

That's funny for sure. Well I have a good response from my dealer so lets keep our fingers crossed and see where this goes. Thanks everyone for allowing me to vent a bit.

Like I said, I think FR makes a great product but I am just the unlucky one this year ...

I hope it gets resolved shortly b/c that is a shame on both FR and the Dealer. Keep us updated on your progress!

Regards,

Brad

Still not fixed. The trailer has been in Indiana at the factory since mid December. The dealer has not helped. We used the trailer about 5 times and it has been in the shop most of the first year. Even if it comes back 100%, We have lost the first year depreciation with virtually no use. Not sure what to do next. Unfortunately we are so frustrated we don't want the trailer or any other for that matter. This has ruined all interest. I think the dealer and FR should step up on this. Sorry for the rant ...

Sounds like you got a lemon. What I would do is call the B.B.B. If you have all the records of the problems you had and service reports they can help.Because the company doesn't want a bad report against them. When I had a problem with my car in the past I had all my records and they took care of that it because I had those reports I was told

Are you a member of Good Sam club.
As stated before in aid to a few others who are having difficulty - Good Sam has a process that assists owners who have been getting the shaft from not only FR but other manufacturers.
