Question Purpose of this cabinet

Strange question, we are purchasing a 2010 used Surveyor SP293. There is a cabinet next to the sofa that has an opening on the side facing the sofa, cabinet door facing front. In the pictures I cannot tell if there was a screen material originally but it just seems an odd opening. There are no exterior access panels or equipment inside. Does anyone know the purpose of this opening?

Thanks!

Remotes? Maybe a TV Guide?

No idea really, but hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Too often is storage hard to come by, I'll take any additional storage I can find, even if it does seem oddly placed.

Ha ha. I’m definitely won’t complain. It just seems so intentional it has to have purpose. ;-)

If sofa makes into a bed that would serve as a night stand.

I think dcheatwood has it. I have an opening behind the clothes cabinets on either side of my bed. They have a cargo net closing the bottom of the opening. Made for things you want beside like a bedside table.

Purpose of this cabinet

The sofa folds into a bed, the space is for tissues and night time items, glasses, eyc.

No idea grasping at straws here....... is the furnace any where close???? Cold air return ??? Seems like an odd place.
