Surveyor Camper Refrigerator Swap

Hi, I have a 2012 Forest River Surveyor Eco Lite camper, 24'. The original refrigerator went out and because the camper is parked on some land, we do not require (or desire to spend $2k on a camper refrigerator) the propane/12 volt type refrigerator that is in it, so I want to replace it with a standard household type refrigerator. I have a power pole on the land so it can stay plugged in.
I looked up the dimensions of the Dometic DM2652LBX that is in the camper but I was just wondering if anyone has swapped one of these out for a "regular" (120 volt household type) refrigerator and if so, which make and model did you use? By looking at refrigerators at Home Depot or such, I can find some that are very close in size but just to save "headaches" when installing the new one, I thought I would ask if anyone has done this swap before so I can buy the correct one/size the first time. Are there any major adjustments needed to be made to the opening that my current refrigerator is in, if so could you please give me some info on what I can expect to do and what kind of wood or trim would I need to bring with me. My camper is on some remote land, so it is not convenient to get the wrong size or forget to bring some tool or wood etc.. required to do the replacement, so I would rather have everything needed and the correct size of the new refrigerator before I attempt to go out and do this swap. Any help, info or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

We did this on an old Fleetwood Teri years ago. We had the more or less standard 120/propane absorption fridge I think you are talking about.

We went to Lowe’s and got what I think was a 10 or 11 square foot 120volt fridge that was the same width but a bit taller

I was able to remove the upper panel above the fridge and slide the new one right in. We plugged it into the old 120 outlet behind the fridge and away we went. I drove a couple screws in the bottom where I could do it wouldn’t tip over and all was good.

I think the likelihood of finding an exact match between a modern 120V and a 12 yr. old combo fridge is zero.

But you should be able to get close enough.

I also think doing this to perfection in one trip, is unrealistic.

Remember, going from an absorption type, to compressor type, you're gonna gain usable cubic footage, in the same footprint. So, unless you wanted it be bigger than the original, you could actually go a bit smaller, have the same cu.ft. and maybe gain a small shelf out of the deal.

Only one point. You may consider a 12VDC fridge. For future use. .

We love our 12VDC fridge. Would not go to anything else.
