Without knowing exact specs on your truck, I am only throwing out my speculations. While the 3.5L has tons of HP and torque to pull like a freight train, the F150 will likely be overloaded on payload and the rear axle GAWR.
Purchasing a Surveyor 247BHDS, it's dry weight was 6008 and fully loaded was right at 7500. Our original tow vehicle was a 2011 F150 and the Ecoboost engine had plenty of power. What I felt the truck lacked was enough mass to consistently maintain comfortable control of the trailer. The truck had a short wheelbase of 145" and the trailer is 29.5' long. With the truck always maxed with payload and rear GAWR, the trailer still outweighed the truck by a few hundred pounds. The length and mass of the trailer would sometimes push the truck a bit around corners and the truck never felted "planted" to the ground. We towed for 4k miles and traded up to an F250.
The 2 details of the F250 that have helped our towing experience was the 156" wheelbase and that the truck weighs about 1700 pounds more than the F150. It just feels solid on the road.
