SV303 Outside light question

I bought a 2006 surveyor SV303 and it has a large light above the outside shower. I don't have a picture of it, but I cannot find similar models with this light.

My question is how to turn the thing on? Is this an add on someone else has done, or is it factory installed?

Picture below is a 2008, but the red circle shows where the light is located.

The next picture is what the light looks like:

Any help you can give would be appreciated. I do not see any weird wiring inside to indicate an aftermarket thing...

OK, that was a bit confusing. The first pic is NOT your trailer, it's just indicating where the light is located on your trailer. Your trailer is in your second post, right?

I could be wrong, but I do not think that Surveyor installed any scare lights on the driver side of trailers. Please someone post if there was ever a standard factory option to install one on that side. If so, then it's a mod the previous owner did, and the switch (or wires) could be anywhere, or maybe he never finished the job and you can't turn it on.

On your switch panel do you have any switches listed as ....
Ods scare light?
Ds scare light?

And if you tried them and it didn't work did you then check the bulb ?

Yes the first pic is just showing where it is on a similar model.

I'm not sure it would be a scare light since I don't see anywhere for a motion sensor on the light he posted.
Initially it would be my thought it would be a scare light being that it is on the driver side of the unit.
Turbs, have you seen motion sensors installed else where outside the light? If so maybe it's a possibility still...

I have not checked the bulb, I was looking for a switch first.

Where is the switch panel? On this trailer there are very few switches, only one switch on the upper cabinet by the door, it controls the outside curb side amber light (verified this other light does not come on with it) and the only other switch in the trailer is in the bathroom. Every interior light I have to switch on and off manually, there are no wall switches.

What is a "scare light"?

A scare light will generally have a motion sensor and is supposed to come on in the dark when motion is detected to "scare" possible crooks...

the pic of the light I posted was one off ebay called scare light. Tonight I will turn on the curbside outside light and then walk by it to see if it will turn on. I think when I turned on the outside light on the curb side I didn't really walk by the light, I just poked my head around the back corner to see if it was on or not.

There very well could be a sensor inside that light then! I haven't seen that style but could be what it is! Could be the bulb or it could be the sensor. Do you have access to a multimeter to see if you have 12V DC to the light? That would be huge to help diagnose as well.

Both my trailers "flagstaff" and "palomino" had scare lights that had to be switched on manually.

On the far right you can see the switches.
Ods scare. "Opposite door side"
Ds scare "door side"

Only scare light I've seen with motion detection was old coots add on scare light with motion detection.

I do not have a switch panel like that. The 2 slides are separate buttons, and the other separate switch is the outside curbside light. Those 3 switches are on the upper cabinet above the sink, right by the door.

The water heater switch is on the cabinet below the sink, the water pump switch and black/grey water levels control is in the bathroom.

If it makes you feel better our unit has (1) scare light on each side and we (Never)use them! I (Gutted) the one on the Door side and used it for a weatherproof area to mount the Box for (LED Awning Lights) and the switch is on a Panel at the door. Youroo!!

OP, I am 99.9% sure this is not a factory light (scare, spot, whatever you want to call it). It would have been something the previous owner added. What is directly behind the light on the inside? They had to pull power from somplace, and chances are the switch is close to that source.

I added a exterior switched light (swithc on the light housing) on the hookup/road side of my unit for night time setup.

Let us know where you find the switch!
