Grand Surveyor,
I installed the
Tornado Tank Rinser on my TT.
It's been a while sense I've looked under a Grand Surveyor, but I would think it has the same underbelly material
(PP (Polypropylene) Sheeting) as my Rockwood. .
Here's what I did.
The Black Tank is located directly under the toilet. I removed a few underbelly retaining screws that hold the edge of the PP Sheeting in this general area. I pulled the material down a few inches and, using a flashlight, looked to see where the black tank was located. This gave me a good idea of where to cut the PP Sheeting to gain access to the tank.
When I located the tank, I took a rough measurement and marked the location. Using a Square, I cut a section (2’ X 5’) of PP Sheeting with a razor knife (box cutter). This gave me an open area to install the Tornado. After I completed the install, before replacing the PP Sheeting, I tested the tank rinser to make sure it operated properly and the supply hose and fittings did not leak.
I re-installed the PP Sheeting by placing a strip of FIR (2” wide, by the length of the cut) on top of the cut area, letting it overhang half way. I then positioned the piece of PP that I had cut out and screwed it onto the overhanging FIR. To seal the area where the PP met, I used black Duct Tape, then screwed a narrow strip of aluminum (the aluminum strip that is used at the edge of Linoleum flooring, it’s about 1-1/16” wide) over the tape.
