Check between the wall and pocket doors for a backer board. On ours, there's a 6" tall piece plywood that spans left to right all the way across the wall. I think the bedroom TV is actually now mounted more solid than the original in the living area.

Finally installed an existing TV we had in the bedroom, see picture.
Note 1, only one screw installed in wall for mount as my backing board is skinnier than the screw holes in the mount.
Note 2, with being a household mount, it doesn’t tighten to wall enough to leave in place during transit, but only takes about 15 seconds to hang or take down. Not an issue for me.

Revisited

The parts came in from L&W so I started on the mounting shell game. Both TVs are installed but, I still need to dress the cords before I do pics of the bedroom TV. I'll do that in a future post. This post covers the main room TV.

First a bit of discovery. The factory mount was attached through what appeared to be a joint in a 3/4" plywood sheet behind the paneling.

That's no so cool. But I noticed a piece of wood on each side of the mount.

Turns out these are part of the 1x2 frames for the two pocket doors to the bedroom. The way the swing arm is built, the TV was very low in the space so the block had to move anyway. So I got longer screws and moved it up and over the wood. Much more solid. Warning: if you're going to do this, either close the appropriate door or be sure you don't go too far over. Don't ask how I know. (I'm pretty sure I needed another project :-))

Anyway, this is the TV in travel lock. There's still a bit of wiggle so, I think I'll be adding eyes and a bungee to try to reduce it.

It's off center in the space due to moving the block to the right to screw into the door frame. This next pic is with the TV swung out taken from the dinette (a future project will replace the dinette with a reclining love seat).

Finally, for those who like that sort of thing, a pic of the back.

Finally got back to inside stuff and closed out the final phase of the TV mounting saga. Today I cleaned up the power and coax on the bedroom TV.

As for mounting the KeBloc, the TV I put in the bedroom had the VESA mount point at the bottom so I needed a lower mount point. First, as noted above, there is no 'stud' at the center of the wall and the 'hard point' for mounting the main room TV is suspect. However, peering into the wall next to the pocket door, I found a 1 x 4 running across the width of the wall at about 5' above the floor. You can find evidence of it by the line of puttied over nail heads in the wall panel. Turns out that was an ideal mount point for the small Sansui I installed. You can see the wings of the original bracket from the main room at the bottom.

For some reason, FR chose to put the power and coax in the ceiling next to the each of the doors. It would have made more sense to put them in the center at least, like previous model years. Anyway, I put up stick-on cord track (from a big boy toy store) to dress it up a bit. The tape they use sticks on a thought so start by peeling a small section then pulling the rest once the end is in place and the other end is where you want it. I used the connectors as spacers to insure room for them after routing the cords.

I don't know what happened to the images of the main room TV. They aren't showing so I guess embedding using the attachment URI doesn't work. Just in case, here they are as attachments.

Hey guys, hopefully you can help with a question regarding my 243RBS tv cable outlets. Are the ones in the bedroom and the exterior hooked up to the antenna? Thanks.

They should be connected (doesn’t mean they are). My bedroom TV picked up numerous digital channels on the first programming. I haven’t tried the outlet outside.

My bedroom outlet is hooked up and worked right off when I tested the new tv hookup. I haven't tested the outside connector.

Thanks. I have no idea what they were thinking when they put the boxes where they did. Top center of the wall would have been less wiring and much better for installation.
