Water Heater Bypass Valves
Hello all. I am the proud owner of a 2021 Surveyor Legend RKLE. I have yet to dewinterize and I am seeking expertise from everyone on where the water heater bypass valves can be accessed. Water heater is located in the front portion under Murphy Bed/closet but I am unable to find access to it. Any insight would be appreciated enforce I start taking everything apart.
Thanks in advance.

The bypass is normally located on the back of the heater. The front of the heater being what you see outside. I am not familiar with your model.
Just to make sure. You are not looking for the water pump bypass are you?
Back to the water heater, if you are looking for a door or hatch or anything that is obvious. You will not find it. For instance ours is located next to the plumbing for the sink. I had to remove some partitions there to access it. You may need to remove a panel by removing screws.
Just eyeball from the outside of trailer as to where it would be on the inside and open it up what ever way you have to.
Good luck!

I have the same unit and haven’t looked for it yet. I was thinking somewhere in the nightstand?

Did none of your selling dealerships demonstrate finding the bypass valve during your PDIs?

They didn’t. At least they didn’t show me. I’ll call dealer tomorrow and see if they can help.

Water heater run on Propane ? go outside and find the access panel that shows were the Water Heater is. On the other side of that wall, is where the water heater will be located. Valves should be located on the water heater.

Went to the barn to check it out on my 2021 203rkle.
In the drivers side night stand you can open the drawer and see the valve used for pulling the antifreeze from the bottle, using the water pump. I don’t know for sure but I am pretty sure the bypass is located behind a panel in the pass through storage. Didn’t have the right bit to remove screws, but it should be right there on the wh.

That is where my water pump is and the bypass tube/valves are. Our 251rks water heaters bypass is below the kitchen sink, I wouldn't think yours is there.

In that photo of the water pump you can see the water heater behind it. I’ll get a square bit and am pretty sure bypass is behind that panel. Of course I won’t be using screw to replace the panel. I’ll put a hinge on it for easy access in the future.

Space can be limited in the storage area. So what I did is put small pieces of Velcro around the edge of the panel. This way I could remove it totally out of the way. Works great. Since I have two access panel in mine I did it in both locations.

Wyodrums, it appears that the winterization valve is still in winter mode. Be sure that its opened to the freshwater tank before you hook up to freshwater...even city water.
There is a check valve in the pump that *should* stop water from flowing into that hose but they've been known to fail. If it fails, you want to fill up your freshwater tank and not your bedroom!

Great idea! It will be switched. Not sure I’m happy with the location of bypass, but am going to use the velcro idea on the panel.

Update: it is behind the panel in pass through storage
