Electric problems?

We are borrowing a Grand Surveyor to live in for 40 days at KOA. We hooked up to the electric, & not everything will run off of it. We have power outlets that work & the microwave. Refrig is running off of gas. AC & lights on battery. Any suggestions?? Thank you!!

You'll only have 30A of available power. Running the A/C, water heater leaves little for anthing else. If some 120V plugs don't work, check for a tripped breaker or GFI.

The AC does not run on battery so it is also running on AC power.

A 30 amp camper will draw way more than 30 amps if you turn everything on and it will trip the main breaker. Additionally, in the heat of summer, the campground may not be able to sustain the voltage required to run all that stuff.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately when we unhook the battery charger from the batteries, only the microwave & outlets work on the electric, nothing else. We may have to have someone come look at it. Refrig & AC only work when the battery charger is hooked up to the batteries. We haven't tried the water heater yet.

Man, I have GOT to ask.
You did not plug into a 220 VAC electric dryer outlet did you?

Polarity fuses? Symptoms seem kind of similar to when I reversed the battery cables several years ago. I only did it for a second, but that was enough to blow the 40amp polarity fuses. Just a thought.

Sounds like ac is hooked up and ok, batteries dead? or bad terminals? Likely the reason you lose reefer and ac when DC power is disconnected which acts as control power for each device. Can you check battery voltage with charger off?
