Has anyone experienced a hot counter top from a improper venting of the fridge I'm going to the dealer the 29th but have not heard what the fix is.

Lots of "not cooling" talk but haven't heard about overheating. Interested to hear what you find out.

Why do you have to tent camp?
Use the camper just not the fridge!

If they ain't working on it and there waiting approval from fr you could be waiting awhile!
I had mine at the shop a few years ago waiting on approval and parts and I simply went and got it then dropped it back off.
"Furnace" issue in October.
We made do.

Like Turbs said, just go get it and tell the dealer to call when he gets approval. It's no skin off his rear if the camper sits there until Christmas.

If they don't make it right, is there any way you can add a sheet metal heat deflector inside behind fridge access top vent to prevent top of counter getting hot?? Sometime it's better to do it yourself if you can.

Good idea along with adding a computer fan or 2 down as low as possible to blow across the entire back.

Did try to do that but it does not move enough air at high ambient fridge won't go below 60 or so degrees the top vent is cut below manufacture recommendation but I thought it was a great idea perhaps a fan mounted midway up the baffle would do the job but then you must power the fan 24/7

What did you try? Curved baffle or fan. Why worry about running a pr of computer fans 24/7?

Both sheet metal and a fan.

I boonie camp a lot was looking foward to the gas fridge not having to make ice runs

Looks like it will just take a little longer using ice chests

Got the factories idea of a fix today put insulation on top of the refrigerator. My gawd that was so disappointing. I guess they don't even read the installation manuals.

I could go on and on about forest river's "mistakes". I've went further into my camper than most would dare and what I saw was disheartening. I just get the impression a lot of people didn't care and there is no pride in their work.

Good luck in getting your deserved satisfaction. I only took my camper to the dealer once to fix a few things and pretty much nothing got a permanent fix (patchwork). The one thing that did get fixed properly (after bitching about the first job they did) was what the insurance paid for from hail damage. The guy at the dealership said that Forest River is unlikely to pay out for their warranty work, so my impression is they don't want to pay for their mistakes. So I get to. And I get to fix everything by myself. How much fun is that??
