2015 Cherokee Grey Wolf Limited 25RR Toy Hauler

Hello,

We are considering buying a 2015 Grey Wolf Limited 25RR toy hauler. Located here in Oregon. The owner is willing to part with it for $15,000 to us. I know the NADA is around $19.5k. We have seen the trailer and it has been very well kept I was just hoping to share some back story to the trailer and get some of your experiences/ tips before we decide to purchase.

The current owners have owned it since 2017, they are originally from Northern Washington. I think they moved to Oregon in 2019. In Washington they had it stored under a shelter so it was covered but it has been out in the weather here in Oregon. The decals aren't sun faded and none of the siding looks faded either. He might have had it under a RV cover for sometime but it hasn't been recently.

Inside he removed the rear bunks and made a sturdier permanent bed with better cushions (doesn't increase the value to me we don't care).

He said he has winterized it every year. He seals the vents, AC, all that stuff on the roof each year.

I pressed on all the walls and didn't feel anything soft, I checked all the corners and didn't see any water stains or soft spots. The back door has no soft spots. The under carriage seems solid I didn't see any damage from blow outs under the fenders. I checked all of the cabinets literally all of them to check for leaks.

I guess I'm just asking for the positives and negatives if you have any. We really like this trailer but we also just like to consider everything before purchasing. We don't currently have any toys to put in it as in no ATVs, dirt bikes or motorcycles just kids haha. So the space is what we are looking at and we are hoping to keep it for many years.

We will probably go see it again before we make a final decision. Is there anything you recommend we look at? Anything on the roof we should look at or any tips on locating leaks if there even are any?

The only other thing that concerns me is why didn't forest river put sides for the shower? We do plan on using that and I just don't like the idea of water getting on the walls. So has anyone replaced that with a shower/tub that goes all the way up so your not just spraying water on the walls?

We aren't worried about weight of the trailer we have a 2018 Ram 2500.

Thank you!!! Sorry for the long post I just want to make sure we are getting a good trailer! We really like this one.

Have the owner demo the appliances. Unless done by the owner, you will likely need to replace the battery and tires. Note trailers tires should be replaced based on age and not simply tire wear.

Appliances weren't really ever used the cook top and oven are still new. He did have the electricity the trailer was plugged in. The fridge did work as well. He said he just replaced the tires we can inspect that again but I'm not really worried about tires we can replace those if needed.

Have you have this type of toy hauler? If so was there anything you ran into problems with?

One thing I might mention is when towing, pay attention to tongue weight. Im not quite sure how the Grey Wolf is outfitted. I know on my toy hauler, unloaded, the tongue weight is a bit too much. But since it's a toyhauler, it is compensating for some weight in the rear. I load a 1200lb trike in the rear and that helps get the tongue weight to where it needs to be. Especially if I want to travel with water in the FW tank as the tank is in front of the axles so that weight will add to tongue weight. So I would suggest paying attention on how you load the cargo and would probably put as much weight in rear as I could.
