2020 Grey Wolf 26RR

I know this is probably asked to much but I'm debating on a 26rr vs 22rr.
I have a Ram 1500 max tow is 8000lbs with 1485 payload. I want to haul my 18 Street Glide Special which is about 1000lbs. Which one would be a better choice. I'm not even sure the Ram could even tow the 26rr.

I use to pull my 26rr with an F150. It would do the job but the trailer pushed it around. I've since switched to a heavier truck and our trips are more relaxing. With that said the trailers are only about 100lbs difference in weight. Pick the floor plan you like best. Just my 2 cents....

I have towed my 26RR to Florida and back sometimes via Arkansas or even St Louis for 3 seasons with a Tundra 5.7. It has an Equalizer hitch and the 26RR carries my 500+lb BMW F800GT. 13,000 miles and never a problem towing - no sway, no porpoising, nothing. For this coming season I have had the spring shackles and the spring central mount upgraded and today I am replacing the tires with D rated Carlisles.
The Tundra works a bit up hills but if I kick it down to keep the revs at 3000 or more it does well. Overall towing mpg is around 8-9 mpg.
Hope that helps.

I have a 2017 26RR for sale bought brand new in Nov 2017. With the BW biker bar installed. Many new upgrades. I pulled mine with a 1500 Silverado. No problems. Comes with the weight distribution hitch.

Thanks for the replies, I'm thinking my ram 1500 would tow the 26rr and 25rrt just fine. Didn't know about the 25rrt so I'm looking into that one.

The layout of the 25RRT looks a bit better than the 26RR and it has more windows to let light in.
You could even build a hanging or other closet in where the bedroom door is and just use the bathroom door as entry/exit. I see they still have that 1 ton table in the rear area. Most people ditch that.
Good luck with your search.

As you can see I use a F 150 with a 26RR loaded with a GoldWing about 800LB.. I try to load the wing a bit forward so part of it is over the axle .. I take it EZ pull about 60 -65 .. We have pulled it from Florida to Lake George NY .. I think a good WDH With Sway control is a MUST .. I have almost no sway even with the big trucks blowing by at 75mph .. I hope that this answers your questions.. if not just and and i will tell what I know .. Happy Camping

Weighting is fluid, for more weight in the trailer, take weight out of the TV.
IE my truck total weight is 14,400, for my trailer total weight is about 7700 so max weight in the trailer limits my truck weight to 6700. If I remove 500 from the trailer, the truck can go up to 7200.

26RR

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram, max pulling of 8900 pounds, and I have no issues pulling my 2017 26RR. Even when I load my Harley Ultra Limited inside I just cruise on down the highway.

Think there is weight dif of about 230 lbs … went through same debate. My Ram has higher tow rate, must be because of rear axle.... anyway I opted for the extra length/space. Have not towed over any big hills yet but seems to be fine just towing around Florida.

Just checked out your layout , that does look nice. Look like you have more room from the sink to rear ,... easier to load 2 bikes ?

I plan on a NY trip at some point , fairly new at this also. How many miles do you usually put in per day at 60 65 … about 500 ?

Pay attention to GVWR and hitch weight. One SG should be fine with up to 26RR. 26RR is more popular and has more room with a nicer kitchen. It is the biggest you can pull with a 1500 pickup. Consider extras and get a sway control/weight distribution hitch like a Blue Ox Sway Pro

As mentioned there is 25RRT https://forestriverinc.com/rvs/trave...olf/25RRT/4616

I have a 2019 26RR but I pull it with a F250 diesel and still use a BlueOx
