325 pack 13 - Black tank flush

Can anyone explain how this system works? Does this flush both black tanks? The manual is less than helpful. Our old TT didn't have this as an option.

Black tank flush is just that, it puts water in your black tank so you can clean it out. Typically I'll empty the black tank, then fill it back up using the flush. Drain the tank again, then drain the grey tank to clean out your sewer hose.

Like the last reply said! You only have one black tank and the other is grey. Black is raw sewage, grey is sink and shower water.

Our 325 pack 13 has two bathrooms, hence 2 black tanks. So I was wondering if the single black tank flush will work on both tanks or just one.

I would hope your BTF is Only going to 1 Black tank,it would be a real chore to keep from "Over Running" the 2 black tanks! Unless there is a "Diverter Valve" between the 2 black tanks for the incoming Water direction! Several Members have issues with Only 1! Youroo!!

The black tank is for the toilet ONLY, everything else goes to the Gray tank.
After looking at your floorplan, one might be piped to the black tank and the other directly over it. Can you see your tanks under the camper? The black tank has the larger 4" piping, which is the size of what you hook your discharge hose to. Did you buy this new? If you are not sure you might want to contact the dealer. NORMALLY the black tank is directly under the toilet, so no piping is needed.
OK, looked at your flooplan again, most likely the master bath toilet is piped to the black tank since it is higher, the black tank should be under the aft bathroom/ toilet. I have never had 2 bathrooms so not sure how they are setup. I am just really really happy to have one toilet! lol

I understand your question, and it's likely that your dealer or manufacturer may provide the best answer. I, too, would be concerned that a single tank flush connection feeding two different black tanks serving two bathrooms spread far apart would have the potential of flooding one bathroom while attempting to dump and clean the other. Your dealer/manuf will know.

Let's assume that you have two black tanks and only one has a flush connection for fresh water. If so, you may want one of these to back-flush the other tank: https://www.amazon.com/Camco-39062-F...lush+connector

My PUP doesn't have a black tank flush, but this thing works extremely well.

Have you tried to see which toilet goes to which tank? Do you have two dump valves for the black water? If you have one of those clear sewer connectors, just hook it up to the dump valve when nothing is in the tanks (clean makes it more enjoyable?). Open the valve for the black tank and have someone inside flush the toilet. Wait to see if the water comes out. If it does, then as soon as it is drained, flush the other toilet and see if water comes out of that, too. This should only take a couple of minutes to check. (filling the bowl with a lot of water also helps make the process more certain) If water comes out when only one of the toilets is flushed, you could have them on separate tanks, but, if it comes out when either of them is flushed, then you have only one tank for black water and the other is for gray water (two gray water tanks?). If you do have two tanks for black water, I would be surprised if they were hooked together on one flush valve, even if they eventually come through the same sewer connection pipe. You would need to have a way of preventing back flow from one toilet to the other. But, if you do, then the next step would be to hook up your flush hose and open the valve to one of the tanks and see if the water comes out. If it doesn't, find the other black water tank valve, hook it up to your sewer hose and try again. The one with the water is the tank that is connected. I would think, though, that if you had two black water tanks, there would be two dump connections for them. We have 3 tanks, but, only one is black. The other two are gray, but, only one of the gray's is hooked up to the back bathroom. Hope that helps.

We do have 2 black tanks (and 2 black valves) along with the gray water valve. But we only have 1 Black tank flush, which is where our confusion is coming from. We weren't sure how the system works, as all of our older TT's never had one.

Then I would drain both tanks so they are completely empty, hook up the hose to the flush and turn it on and see which tank has water coming out. It would be strange if they both had water because the pressure wouldn't be good enough to clean the tanks. Wonder if there is a diverter valve that shunts the rinse from one tank to the other? I would doubt it. Probably they were just to cheap to put in a second rinse connection. Got to love RV builders.

I have the 325 pack 13. The black flush flushes both black tanks.

Used mine for the first time this past weekend. It does both but it would be nice if it had a switching valve so you could choose which tank to flush

So do you keep the black tank valve closed while you fill it up with the flush? I thought that was a no-no. I've always had the valve open to back flush but would like to close it for awhile to partially fill back up again.

You have to watch it very carefully to make sure it doesn't overflow, but, I have done that successfully (but carefully) to rinse out the tank a bit better. I have shut off valves right at the point where the hose connects to the rinse connector on the trailer. It is just a hose shutoff, but, I can stand right there by the dump valve and turn off the rinse hose quickly if things get bad. Also, if someone inside the unit can see how high the water is (we can in ours), they can signal you to shut it off before you overflow. We also have the clear elbow so I can see what's coming out of the tank(s) and either leave the water on or turn it off depending. If you watch for the flow rate as well, you can tell if there is a clog that requires more water or if it is pretty clean. Let it drain after you shut the water off for a good while (sometimes I let it go for 5-10 min) and check the gauges. When I do this the tanks usually read empty. If I don't wait, they will read 1/3 full. If you are running the rinser and still not much is coming out, be wary that there may be a clog and you are filling up your tank. So far, the rinser has worked very well. When I use the wand through the toilet I get almost nothing but clear water out the dump valve. Now I only use the wand at the end of the season because the rinser works so well.

Yeah.. I got distracted one time.. Water came out the roof vent! I've heard people have ruptured the tanks.
