Cherokee grey wolf extra clearance

I just bought a 2019 Cherokee grey wolf 19rr. We boon dock in some pretty remote parts and I know I’m going to need more clearance. I’ve heard of flipping the axils and im wondering if anyone has done this with this particular model. I’m also wanting to move in a 16” wheel with a larger tire. Suggestions?

I did it on my Wolf Pup 16BHS.
AMAZON lists the Dexter axle relocation kit, hangers you bolt on your axle to relocate the spring perch from bottom to top of your axle. A couple different kits, axle weight capacity/diameter dependent. Mine was about $65 for my single 3500# axle. I gained about 5” more frame clearance. I could have easily bumped my wheels to the next size, until my springs flattened ;( Now I not only have a “flipped” axle, I have new 5000# axle springs, and slightly plus sized tires. Luckily, I have a local mechanic I trust to do the work. I did supply the parts.

If frequenting bad roads, I recommend investigating RV shocks or sumosprings to lessen trailer wheel impacts on the RV.

Thanks for the information. I am most definitely going to look into this. I am also going to look into larger wheels and tires as the extra room will allow for this.

Don't forget that you will need to adjust the hitch height on your TV. You also might need the modify your entrance steps and carry more blocks to help your stabilizer jacks reach the ground
