E-Tracks in 26RR

Hi everyone!
Looking for information if anyone has installed e-track in their toy hauler.
I'm going to be hauling two bikes. One a 1300 v-star deluxe which will be loaded first in the kitchen area and the second a Kawasaki 650 S behind it. Both bikes will have chocks not bolted down.

I would like to add a 4ft sections in the kitchen area one against the sink area and another against the wheel box. They would start in between the axles and go rearward. Would like it for more support for the v-star.

I would prefer not to cut the fabric underneath the trailer, but want to use backing plates underneath for the e-track. Just drill a hole down through the fabric. I don't believe there is anything underneath that should be avoided am I wrong?

I'm just worried about the factory tie downs.
Also anyone know what the factory tie down are anchored to?

Thanks for any responses
Keith

I did see what the factory "D" rings were rated for (2500lbs per ring?)and as I recall it was way over what was needed for my Gold Wing.....what I did is to anchor a Harbor Freight wheel chock to 2 of the "D" rings and drive the Wing onto the chock, which holds the Wing steady during transport. I did put carpet under the chock to prevent any marring of the floor.

The tie downs for the most part are anchored to floor joist if the did not miss them. I did add a couple more in my 26rr. In a couple where they missed the joist by a hair I drilled another hole in the d ring and secured it to the joist with a lag bolt. look under pimp my 26 rr for pics.

Stu,
Thanks for your input.
That was my thought too with the wheel chocks, I have the wide ones from cycle gear.
Just a little nervous we plan on being on the road for three months after the New Year.

rmac,
I assume you had to cut the liner under the trailer to check the D-ring anchors.
How did you repair the liner?
I don't want to expose the plywood to moisture.
Will check out your pimp post.

I did not touch the liner. I unscrewed the tie down to see how they were fastened. I studied the underneath multiple times before I used the hole saw on the floor to put more rings.

Measure 20 times cut once in this case. Only one I was off by 1/4 inch. Just drilled holes in d ring piece. Click image for larger version

Make sure where your studs are before sawing your floor. Good luck.

rmac,

where did you get your tie down rings from.
The ones on the trailer have 2500# stamped on them.
The only ones similar I've found but not rated as high were from norther tool.

I suppose they are heavy enough.
I do have my measurements down. Just want to put one off the rear edge of sink cabinet.

If you have either one of these close by ~ check out tie downs at Tractor Supply or Harbor Freight.

Also, check rmac's thread 'Pimp my 26RR' and look for the pic as to how he attached a wheel chock. Wasn't permanent or in the way of your feet the way e-tracks would be. Can't imagine stumbling over those things blurry eyed & bare footed!!
