New 2016 Grey Wolf 22RR Model Question

Hi Guys, just signed up for the forums as I may be a new FR Cherokee TH owner. I'm from Alberta, Canada and the dealer I'm talking to is offering me a 22RR model for about 24,995 plus fees. Is that a good deal or not? I love the layout, lots of room around the toilet, hard shower wall, walkaround queen bed and the back bed is nice too.

Any opinions on this unit yet for anyone?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

Its hard to compare prices USA vs Canada just do alot of home work. Prices down here are all over the place - I bought local and paid a little more But if I need warranty work it should not be no problem. Others have gone to other states for purchase and now regret that decision.

PDI is very important to get done also.$$$

I had them include WDH P2 brake controller(installed) two full propane tanks.

Examples: 2016 22rr
Selling Price -

$16,995.00

Thanks for the input Bluewoo! It's nice to hear that people like this particular model and offer suggestions to newbies like me!

I should also mention that the one they are offering me has the XL package which includes most upgrades, power tongue/awning (not sure about leveling jack), TV, folding assist handle, outside shower, rv quick connect, fantastic fan in bathroom, oven, skylight over tub, night shades, 6 gal. gas & electric hot water, scare light and the Core package is backup camera ready, ducted A/C 13,500, DVD, friction hinge door and solar prep & wiring.

I'm pulling with a new 2015 Ram 1500 Sport with 3.92 gear ratio (rated at 10,000 lbs). I had the Dodge dealer install the tow package which came with the dodge brake controller that has it's own spot right on the dash on the truck. Standard Ram suspension, not air bags.

That's about it. You're absolutely right though, research, research, research...

No problem - just look everywhere - all are not alike thats for sure (options are not all the same dealer to dealer). You will have issues that most can be fixed by your self, invest in a surge protector I have this one that I hard wired. http://www.progressiveindustries.net/#!ems-hw30c/cuun
Amazon has it a little cheaper.
Always run tires at max PSI on side walls nothing less.
Take your time and when its all set Go camping my friend!!

That's great advice, thanks!!

So where do you mount/hook up the surge protector? I think that is a great idea!

I did mine behind fuse panel then ran wired display up to top cabinet so I dont get the flashing red at night.. Just getting you thinking

Oh and pretty much all campers are AMPERAGE limited - Running everything will blow the breakers - turn off AC before using microwave is a must.

26RR

Seeing the same range 16,995 to 18,995 here in Michigan. There is some kind of electrical protection built into the 26RR. A green light above the plug in but the dealer could not tell me what level. I asked for a wiring diagram as part of my owners documentation and the dealer said no problem I am not holding my breath.

Maybe this? They only give you a visual blue/red on the cord - if it already plugged in its too late. I replaced my cord (warranty) and rewired the cover with a new resistor and led.

Also might check Tweety's also for a PI surge protector. I found they had a very good price & good service/shipping.

Thanks Tundra, I've been doing a bunch of research. Looks like the new 22RR are cheaper out east then here in Alberta/BC. I took a walkthrough in the 22RR today, I LOVED it.. What a nice unit. Can't wait to go for my first trip with it.

You have two strikes against you, regarding RV prices.
1. Living on the West Coast ensures that dealers out here will jack up the prices since at least 80% of RVs are made in the Midwest.
2. Living in Canada guarantees that you're going to get gouged on price.

Ya, no kidding Bikendan, I see that. If you go to the FR RV website and look for the RR floorplans, they are not available when you choose the "West" drop down menu, they are only available "Mid-West". So yes, that makes sense, that's why they can charge that much for them. I don't really want to drive to Toronto to pick one up lol. Anyway, I'm taking the plunge and buying it, I get it Aug 22nd. It's not too bad of price, for the West coast that is...

The only good FR prices you can get out here, are the brands made in their Oregon factories, which are limited.

I ended up getting the Grey Wolf 22RR. I LOVE it! My first trip will be this weekend and then the following weekend as well. I'm hoping everything works out alright.

Thanks for everyone's input. I think I'll end up installing the EMS surge protector hardwired at the end of this season or beginning of next.

Congrats on your new TT.

Don't wait to long on the surge protector. I did, & it cost me a TV, converter & microwave.
