zamp solar

i have a battery tender solar trickle charger ,and was wondering if i plug it in to the zamp port on the side , it should keep the battery charged for normal use right

It is the same connection as battery tender. keep in mind it's not a charger but works great to maintain. I have them on all my toys.

It is the same connector, but the polarity is backwards. I have read this somewhere here. Make sure with a voltmeter before you plug in.

Yes, I believe it is reversed polarity.

I just checked mine and it IS reverse polarity. I would not have thought that. It makes sense to have it that way so the female portion of the plug on the solar panel does not short against something when not plugged in. I checked one of my tenders and the hot side (male) does not turn on until it is plugged into a battery so I guess not to short against something before IT is plugged in. On my motorcycles, the female part of the plug is hot and the male portion is negative.
