AC will not turn on with generator
I have a 2018 Freelander 22rs that I purchased new in April. Today I thought I would try to run the AC using the generator while out at a park, but the AC would not turn on: not the fan, nor compressor. The generator is a Cummin Onan with 4 ,kw and 33.3 amps. I cannot find any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. Any ideas on what I need to look, or tell general rv to cook at?
Thanks in Advance,
Raul

Did any other 120v items work while on generator power?

Do you have an automatic transfer switch, or do you need to plug your power cord into the generator outlet?

I don't know/don't see where I would plug the power cord to.

I believe the plug is usually in the basement storage where your power cord is. I would think that your transfer switch would be as well, if you had one.

Look everywhere inside and all outside compartments, no such plug or switch. One thing I found though, the GFI plug cannot be plugged into, plug cannot be inserted. All the other plugs work ok when on house current, but not generator on.

Did your dealer not go over this stuff when you purchased your 2018 unit?

After doing a little research, I found in the Freelander list of features that they have a "Manual Generator Changeover". You will most likely plug your power cord into an outlet that is positioned inside of a storage compartment. Now to find it. Maybe someone with a Freelander can chime in or ask in the Freelander subforum. Good luck.

Ha! The young lady that was assigned to do it had just been given that task and did not know much beyond the bottom basics. She tried her best, but I knew more from the boats I own and Lance truck camper I had years ago.

Sorry to hear that.
The PDI/Customer orientation is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT items when buying an R/V. Shame on your dealer for not having someone in that position with the knowledge to explain each and every detail about your unit. I bet they had someone in a position who knew how to take your money!
Beware of what you might be burdened with on future visits to them.

Gen power
There are two sets of breakers. One on the gen set and one in the fuse panel inside the coach. Try turning them off and then back on. Sometimes the breaker dosent looked tripped but it is .

I tried that and no results, so I dropped the vehicle off at General RV.

I am betting on there being a plug where you have to plug the power cable up. On my Concord it is in the same compartment the cord pulls out of. There is a metal junction box with a 30 amp female plug on it. You plug the cord in there and if the generator is running and the breakers are on you should have power.

I looked there and felt all around in case it was not visible, and all I found was plastic enclosing the space for the power cord.

You checked the breaker on the generator ? Not the ones in the fuse panel. There is a separate one on the generator.

I looked at some pictures of similar units on the web, they look to be very similar to mine. I my case the plug is just to the left inside the power cord compartment, just inside the hatch. I will post a picture later tonight.
I suppose it is possible they might have forgot to wire one in...
