Bad tasting water

We just got our new Forester and drove from Ohio back to Oregon. We noticed the unpleasant taste of the water and assumed that it was just midwest water that always tastes that way. However, when we got back to Oregon and hooked up our normally great tasting water, we still got an unpleasant, kind of chemically taste as before. We are thinking maybe that the taste is coming from our water lines, since they are new or something else in the system. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Thanks

Try a whole system flush and sanitizer using bleach? Also drain the water heater. Does it smell? Sometimes algae gets into the water heater and smells like rotten eggs.

Bad tasting water

Mine was the same way at first, but after several FW tank fills, it went away. We do use a filter attached to the hose, along with the main house filter and when I change the main filter I have learned to run a few gallons of water through it before using the water for drinking.

Sure they didn't have it winterized when you picked it up?

Good point, AF tastes very bad! Even after flushing at home I still had a taste left behind for a while.

Pretty sure they didn't, as it was straight from the FR factory. I'll try a few more tanks and also try to flush it.

First RV we bought was winterized (in Florida, no less!). We had no idea what that meant. On our first trip we got most of it out once we smelled it but that stuff hung on like a tick!

When you do flush/sanitize be sure to open the low point drains and it would not hurt to turn the center water heater bypass valve to flush it.

If your unit has a built in water filter replace the cartridge, or remove the whole filter system and replace it with something outside.
