First time in Class A- questions

We are renting a Class A for a long family trip. Our rig is a 5er, so I have some questions about being out in a Class A:

MH is 35 ft, and there are 6 of us.

-Do most CG have a dump station, even if they don't have full hookups?

-Where else can I typically find dump stations?

-Would a dump station have fresh water, or do I have to tank up at the CG?

-How much propane is used by the refrigerator?

-We'll be in areas with high temps in mid 70s. Can I get by with 30A sites? I don't think I'll need lots of air conditioning.

Yes, most CGs will have a dump station. Search for interstate rest areas that are rv friendly ie have dump stations. Those that do will generally have water available too. If you're not already a member, join Good Sams. Their trip planning area might show you where those rest areas are. Don't fill completely as the weight of the water will affect your gas mileage. Just enough to flush a couple times and wash your hands etc.
Fridges don't use too much propane. But most fridges work off of both electricity and propane. Unless you're boondocking, most campgrounds will have water and electric hookups if not full hookups. You're paying for the electricity--use it too save your propane $$$

I'm confused how you want to know so much about dump stations when you already own a fifth wheel...

Just curious, which state(s) require a commercial license to drive a recreational vehicle?

That's not universally true. Most states specifically exempt RVs from the class B requirement. Additionally, every state I know of, you only need a class A if the vehicle articulates, which a motorhome does not.

Our fifth wheel has been used only with full hookups. We are boondocking some of the time in the Class A.

-Where else can I typically find dump stations? Flying J of Pilot truck stops

-Would a dump station have fresh water, or do I have to tank up at the CG? No, most dump stations have non-potable water

-How much propane is used by the refrigerator? Very little, you could probably run your fridge for over a month on one bottle.

In stead of questioning your questions, I tried to answer them for you. Sounds like you are about to go on an adventure. Enjoy yourself,,you will be fine..
