Help replacing step motor
We have a 2019 Georgetown GT5 31R5. It has the 3-step Kwikee steps. I removed the step assembly to repair a lot of surface rust that was on the frame behind the steps. (Wintertime delivery. Should have crawled under with a hose.) While the steps were out I noticed the motor housing and outside plate were also very rusty. For $80.00 on Amazon, I got a whole new motor. The old one still works but I figure why put it back without swapping it. I am painting the housing on the new motor. Anyway, to the question. Has anyone changed one of these? Unlike my old coach with 2 steps, the motor attached to a plate and the nuts are between the plate and the bottom of the step bracket. I can probably get 2 of the 3 without removing the plate, but I'm thinking it might be easier to remove the plate. (See photos). I circled the 3 bolts that hold the motor on the plate. In the other photo I numbered the bolts that I believe hold the plate to the step assembly. Just looking to see if anyone has done this? I doubt it's complicated but tips and tricks appreciated.
