How do you set your brake controller #

Just traded in my 5er for a 35 foot mh. Installed a brake controller to dolly tow my toad. How do I determine what brake setting to set on the controller? With the 5er the procedure was drive at 25 mph then apply the trailer brake and when you got it to stop without the trailer brake locking up you had it set right. I don’t think that would work on this beast. So how do you set it?

I bought a used "Roadmaster Evenbrake 9400 Portable Proportional RV towed Vehicle Braking System" from eBay.

Mine has 3 sensitivity settings. The recommended setting to start with is the middle range, or "Average", which is the default. Says to try it, and tweak as needed. Not found a need to do so yet.

The variable proportional braking seems to work quite well. The Jeep behaves itself back there, and I never feel that it's pushing the motorhome during various braking cycles.

Not sure what system you have...
