Hydraulic levellers

We bought our 3010 DS Sunseeker new in March 2019 and so this is the first long term stay in the sunny South (Arizona). If we are going to stay put for over two months should I be exercising the hydraulic levellers a few times just to work them. Also is a silicone based lube spray OK to wipe on the levellers before retracting them. Third question- if I need to top up the hydraulic fluid is there a specific kind or weight requirement.

Hello,

From what I have been told by Lippert, just wipe them down if dirty. If anything just use some hydraulic fluid to clean. This will not effect the seals and O rings in the jacks.

To answer the hydraulic fluid type question, the Lippert Components owner’s manual, which I printed from on-line, says “Lippert recommends Dexron III ATF or approved equivalent for hydraulic fluid.”

Mine sit for months at a time unused. Every couple of months I wipe them down with WD-40, then wipe them dry. Frankly, I think if it's not a pain, it's always better to exercise anything mechanical periodically.
