Is there a "CarFax" for RV's?

Looking at buying a used class A. With all the flooding going on lately, kind of worried about biting on something that has been really, really wet. Is there anywhere you could load the vin to find out about prior damage or insurance claims?

I think you can buy a report from the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), but not all 50 states participate in that. If you can buy one, it should show a title "brand" (as is like the old TV show Branded). "Brands" would include salvage, rebuilt, etc.... Since a Class A or C would have a title and is powered like a "vehicle" I presume they would be covered like any other large truck.

X2 thanks. Learned something. I've been doing some Carfax and Autochecks and was never quite sure what they meant when they talked about "brands".

Be very careful... Title branding may not apply to "house issues". The Lemon Law here in Georgia only applies to the chassis, not to anything FR added. So if someone had a rig that had roof damage, and subsequent water damage, to the "house" it may not be "branded" on the title. I not sure how the state would handle an insurance "total" that did not involve the chassis. It can get really weird with motor homes...

This is one of those times I'd hire a qualified inspector to check out a rig...

Maybe for Motorhomes but doubt it for towables.

You might check your local rv rental place. The one near where I live south of Nashville, sells there entire stock of rentals off around October as they replace their stock. They do this every fall. They general have a couple of class a units and several class c. Along with a lot of towables. They generally carry 50-60 units, they buy from FR and Jayco mainly. Friend of ours rented a 2019 Grey Wolf that was in like new shape. No issues at all with unit.
