Leaving "stuff" in motorhome
Wondering if you leave a lot of your things in the motorhome when it is put away for the winter. Linens, cleaning supplies, shampoos and liquid cleaners, etc. We are just getting our MH and wondering how much I should stock it up with things when it is almost time to winterized here in the north east.

Everything but food.
Clothes go in a air tight bag.
And any freezable liquid

Living in Texas where winterizing a RV is not required unless the owner just wants to do it, I would say unless your MH is heated during cold weather, that you can leave just about anything that won't cause damage if it freezes.

Good question, I have been wondering the same thing. Instead of air tight bags I was planning to use some plastic totes I've had in the garage for a while. The lids don't have locks but they aren't coming off easy either.

When I take stuff out for winter I am trying to mouse proof mostly. All food is taken to house. Linens, kleenex, paper towels, dish towels, basically anything they like to make a home out of is in a plastic tote that is stored in camper. Dishes are also put in totes so they don't walk all over them.

We use our 5er from March to the end of Dec.
The only things we remove while the rig is in dry dock is perishables & water based liquids.
We keep one rubbermaid type box just for the stuff we remove. It has it's own designated self in the basement.
I run the pink stuff, Ehrlick comes out & treats the rig then we close her up.
Since we started having Ehrlick service the rig we have never had a critter issue.

We live in a heavily wooded area & have an annual pest control contract with Ehrlick. They actually come out 4 times a year to monitor/treat the house.
The Ehrlick guy treats the 5er just as if it were a house. A couple years ago he placed six baters around the rig. One in the basement, one under the bed & anywhere pipes come through the floor. All are out of sight. In the baters is stuff the mice eat that makes them really, really thirsty. First thing the mice do is head right for the baters because it's easy access & they don't have to go further to look for food. They then head right back out & drink themselves to death. Ehrlick also sprays in the 5er for ants & other stuff. Each time he's out he reloads the baters with fresh stuff. Best thing is he doesn't add it to my invoice since he's already out for the quarterly house visit. (We tip him very well @ xmas time.)

I know it seems excessive...but, yes even the dishes. This is something that we started doing when we had a boat and had it stored for the winter.

We use ours as much in winter as any other season. Also I have a shop that is big enough that it stays in. We have a big shelve right next to it that we keep large pots on. Only load those when we need

 our camper stays at our permanent site all year round so we pack all the cloths and linens up in vacume bags pull all the food and batteries out of everything take home all electronics TVs satalite receiver etc
