Motorhome cost

I am considering buying a new Winnebago class A. The MSRP is $91,000. I know there is a big mark-up in this price, but does anyone have any idea what would be a fair offer?

From what I've been told and seen, 'cost' is around 60% of MSRP - so something in the $60-65k or so would likely be a good, fair offer - they have to make some money or won't be around in the future.
Checking around (via web, phone, etc) you might find similar rigs listed elsewhere that would help you determine a fair offer for that particular model - some may be in more demand than others, etc.

Are you talking new as in 2012 model or earlier year but never owned? You won't find as good a deal on a 2012 as you would for a 2010 or 2011 in the same layout but still new. Dealers want older year models gone to make room for the latest offering from the manufacturers. A little homework looking for the same Model but earlier year will save you more $$$$$$.

I would agree with what the others have said, but add to it that I have usually found the Winnies and their brother Itasca's to be a tad overpriced compared to other rigs. You may want to check out others before you fall in love with just one rig.

I'd suggest a good used vehicle. Have it checked out before you buy. You can save tens of thousands on an RV like you want, just two or three years older. Bugs already worked out. Most people I see are getting rid of their rigs for financial reasons. Their loss your gain. Just make sure it's a reputable place you buy from. There's a huge consignment lot here in Houston TX.
