Need Info On A '92 Rockwood

I just bought a 30' 1992 Rockwood Regent but, unfortunately, the only manual I got was the Ford chassis owner's manual. Being new to RV's I'm still trying to find out how everything works.

When Forest River bought the company they cut it up and just kept the name for a line of TT's and the Class A line went away. I'm hoping someone here can point me to a source for the motorhome manuals.

Manufacturers seldom provide manuals for their rvs. Your best bet would be to get the make and model of all appliances and components of the rig. Then go online and to the manufacturers website for manuals. I'm not sure how successful you'll be.

In the meantime, there are lots of people here with knowledge of how things work and will be glad to try to help. Put your rig information in your signature under UserCP...edit signature....on the bar at the top. Then give as much information as you can about your problem.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase.

In general, RVs are like a house. There is no one manual for the whole unit, just manuals for the components. I’d suggest jotting down make and model information from your motorhome’s components, like the air conditioner, refrigerator, power converter, water heater, thermostat, etc, and searching on-line for manuals and information on those components. Eventually you can build a library of manuals for your motorhome.

Even with a new motorhome, the main manual, if there even is one, is just generic RV stuff. Then you either receive or have to hunt down a stack of manuals for the appliances and other components.

Moved to the General Motorhome Discussion section since the OP's motorhome is not on a Ford Transit chassis.
OP, finding information on a nearly 30 year old motorhome from a line that hasn't produced for about the same amount of time, you've got an uphill battle.

When we bought our current TT new it did not come with many manuals for the appliances. I wrote down the model and serial number for the refrigerator, furnace, radio, converter, toilet, and microwave. I went on-line and downloaded all of the installation manuals and owners manuals. I printed them all and carry them in the TT in a 3 ring binder.

I was hoping there would be one from Rockwood that would be a general overall but it would be nearly impossible to find if it does exist. That might give me things like tank capacities, fill, drain and maintenance instructions but I'm sure I can figure out most of that on my own.

BehindBars and BarabooBob, one of the units we looked at had a folder of books on the appliances in addition to a coach manual. The wife has already started to write down model numbers of some of the kitchen appliances.

Reverse_Snowbird, I have one man on another forum that has volunteered to make the hour drive to come try to help me out some and a couple of others that have indicated that can help school me as well.

Already found out from a forum member that the propane leak detector has to be turned on for the gas to work. That's the kind of thing I wouldn't have thought about.

As the song says, "I'll get by with a little help from my friends".
