Our Friends lost their rig.
This happened Friday, on the NY Thruway. Everyone is okay. They managed to save the toad and tow dolly. They don't know what caused it.

This rig doesn't belong to the OP.

Glad everyone is OK.
Hoping they had replacement cost insurance.
I won't comment on cause because we would simply be guessing or giving an opinion but I suspect the speculation will begin.

My friend says it appears to have been a problem with the rear brakes.

I am curious if they had the propane on for the frig? Not trying to cause an issue. We travel with the propane on and am starting to think maybe that isn't a good idea any more..

I was warned by an old time RV'r to use the electric, sitting on a serviced site or the 12V while driving. Gas only when dry camping.
Now I know why!!
Glad no-one was hurt.

I’m not sure you do know why since the OP said in post #14 it appears to have been caused by the rear brakes.
12v while driving doesn’t work for the majority of us.

What kind of RV was it? A 5th wheel, a tagalong, a motorhome?

Most RVs have 2-way fridges, which won't work on 12v while driving.
Only 3-way fridges(like those in folding campers and truck campers), residential fridges(through an inverter) and the new 12v only fridges will work on 12v while driving.

My bad. I just read/registered #2 and missed #14
My unit seems to cool and keep stuff frozen while I drive and the gas isn't on.
While parked on an electrical site with the 12V bus turned to off and the power cord plugged in, I get cooling and the freezer works.
I'm not as experienced as most on here, so any advice and input is appreciated.
