Ha ha. I was being very sarcastic of course. I sell Cosby(those aren't) they will hold many times the WLL. We call that type a screw pin shackle. The 7/8" is rated at ?? 6 1/2T WLL I think.

Great thread! Let me share my setup:
This is my 2017 Rubicon Recon as I'm just finishing up the bumper/winch install and testing the RoadMaster fit.

One of the reasons I went with the Recon edition was because it already had a steel bumper that was winch ready - unfortunately that didn't do me any good as the baseplate etrailer recommended (EZ5) won't fit that bumper. After a call to RoadMaster, turns out they had a baseplate that would have worked but I would have to do a bunch of cutting on OEM parts. Frustrating.

Needless to say, I didn't go that route, I bought the Rock Hard 4x4 bumper which afforded more winch room and a cleaner look without the baseplate hanging down. It has the tow bar adapters that bolt right to the frame. With just a few thousand miles on it so far, I have no complaints.

Fourwhl,
Love those colors! That's the pic you posted before at Tiger Run resort, isn't it? After I saw that pic I looked that place up - definitely planning a stay there next summer. Apparently they have a jeep group that leaves right from there for trail excursions. Sounds like my kind of place....can't wait!

Why not use a d ring adapter and pull from your recovery points?

Yep. Cool group of (mostly retired) guys that goes out every Tues and Thrs. Definitely recommended.

The park is pretty nice, lots of amenities. Was a little resorty/country clubish for us but very well kept and nothing to complain about either.

We're going to head back in February to do some skiing. Cant beat the location.
