We are considering trading in our 40 ft Cardinal fiver for a smaller Class C. Any recommendations? We aren’t looking for something for long term camping, more for road trip comfort and weekend type camping.

Might want to look at a Class B instead of class C if road trip ‘comfort’ is your goal. Class C obviously bigger but kind of boxy. Class B more van like and there are some really nice units out there. Just a thought. We have a 5ver and have no interest in a MH but just something to consider.. Good luck with your search..

We use our Sunseeker MBS 2400Q Class C for touring, or road trips, and short duration stays. We do some longer stays, like two weeks at the Goshen rally, but most of our trips are 5 to 7 days moving every day or two.

The Sprinter based MBS has the best road manners, of the motor homes we've owned, and is easy to drive. My wife enjoys driving the MBS as it is just a big van in many ways. The down side will be be CCC and space compared to your fiver.

If you want creature comforts in the cab the new 2019+ Sprinter chassis is light years ahead of the older Sprinter and the E-450. This link is to the FR training video on the new Sprinter. It gives a good high level description of the new chassis.

Well.... we have a REV but they don't make them any more. You may be looking for a B+/C

There is a Cross Trek built on the small Ford Transit . I like the fact that it doesn't have an overhang (we don't need the extra bed), runs on gas which makes it economical and they have a small turning radius and they're not that expensive. We also like the Forester TS layouts.
