TGR. I am looking to get a new GPS. My nuvi200 does not do trucks or RV's. I have a 2006 F250 4x4 King Ranch with commercial plates and a 2014 Primetime Crusader 260RLD 5th wheel. Not able to use truck on parkways in New York even without camper. Have not taken camper off Long Island yet. Looking to do so next month. Looking for one GPS that does my truck, 5th wheel and my car. I like the RV760 but the propane thing will be a problem. The dezl760 would take care of the propane but gives me settings more suited for a tractor trail truck. I like the RV one with all its RV info vs the dezl and all its truck stops. Do you or anyone else have any sugestions?

No, I'm afraid I don't know of anything that will help with the propane except for the dezls760. I've read other blogs and the propane issue is frequently mentioned. It seems odd that that data can't be added to the RV version.

On a Garmin blog, I read that you can add restricted tunnels manually to the "Custom Avoidances," but that isn't helping if you are unaware of a problem when traveling. I've not used this feature so I don't know how user friendly it is.

Haven't messed with my new dezl 760 that much, but on other Garmins, I will warn you not to use Low Clearance.com program as it will fill your "Favorites" with every bridge from 10'-0" to 12'-11" in the country and the only way to get rid of them is to delete all but YOUR favorites. Don't ask how I know. IMO it is a total waste of $14.97 for a year or $44.97 for a lifetime of updates.

I use my Magellan RV5365 on every trip with the TT and a lot of times when we are traveling solo in areas we are not accustomed to.

Every once in a while, it will start giving directions that I know are completely wrong (you always need to have a general idea of where you are going) and I have to reboot it. I use a toothpick and stick it (excuse me folks) up it's butt. Then it acts right!

It will even give me detour options to roads that are coming up that may be blocked/slowed traffic that I wouldn't know. Apparently, it uses data given to it from the satellites about the flow of traffic. Just like magic.

Just looked on my dezl 760 and no propane avoidances is not an option. I will search around and see if there are any POI's with it.

I just replaced a Magellan Roadmate (screen froze and couldn't be cleared) with a RV Rand McNally 7730 and so far love it... Has way more features than the old Magellan and is extremely RV friendly..... I did the software up-date as soon as I got it so I'd have all the latest software and it's working great.... I especially like the "Dock" feature which I find extremely helpful... I also like being able to plan out a trip on my computer and then download it to my unit.... Rand McNally has too many new features to list here.... Suggest you go online and check them out yourself.....

Have the Garmin 760LTM...works correctly about 70% of the time. Use phones for true routes then fidget with it. Large cities and back roads give mine the most trouble.

Just found out you can change from rv to truck, configure the truck to match your rv and on avoidances you can select Compressed gases and get the propane avoidances. I will see if it works. Where is a tunnel that prohibits propane?

695 is the detour to avoid the tunnels. It's a bridge.

Edit. Was that with the restrictions on?

Yes, it was with it configured as a truck with compressed gases restriction applied.

Ok them that would be correct. With the avoidance off does it go through the tunnel (just to make sure the detour was not the best way to get there)

Don't know, I'll try it using the car instead of the truck.
