Should I believe them or not?
I took my new MH in for service after our first camping trip. One thing noted on the work order was that the ice maker was not working. A week later I received a call from Camping World and was told that the refrigerator had stopped working and that they were going to contact the manufacture and would be ordering me a replacement.
Well today ... I received a call from Camping World saying that the refrigerator was not broken after all. When they leveled the MH in the shop the fridge started working. There will be no replacement.
Is this valid?

Well, seeing is believing, Did you observe them not working?Tell service to have it operating when you pick it up.
Then try both gas and electric modes. Good luck!

I was once told that the fridge would not work if the RV was way off level and if this occurred the fridge would most likely have to be replaced or undergo a major repair in getting rid of the air in the refrigerant lines. You may want to check this with them. I also totally agree with updhaul.

I would ask that the paper work ordering new and or canceling would be provided to you And perhaps call Forest River to verify fridge not ordered. Hum

It is the fore and aft level that is the critical issue with absorption type refrigerators. The coils in the back that actually do the cooling at gently sloped so being off level prevents gravity from taking its course and the cooling mixture cannot flow, hence, no cooling. If left this way for even a week permanent damage can occur when a buildup inside the tubing prevents flow of the coolant. The cooling unit of the refrigerator cannot be serviced (even at the dealership), only replaced.
Please INSURE it is working to your satisfaction before accepting it back. But also understand that these systems are very slow to cool so tell the dealership to have it working on propane or electricity for 2 days before you go to check it. That will give it time to cool down and should freeze ice in the freezer compartment.
Good Luck

I would ask for something in writing stating that once they leveled the RV the fridge started working. This can be used as proof that they ran it when not level. If they are incompetent enough to run not level, they should have no problem putting it in writing.

Just as an add precaution ask them to write up just exactly what determined the delays and diagnostic test that lead them to believe everything was in good working order.

I did not know that they sucked until after I bought from them. If it helps I love the MH!

We have used CW twice (New Braunfels, TX and Lake City, FL) for warranty work (replace stove and fix slide) while travelling and both times we were in and out in approx 3 hrs. Maybe we were lucky.
