Hi fellow travelers. I am planning a trip to Tennessee in June and was wondering which area would be more preferable. I am coming from Michigan. I think I have it narrowed down to either Twin Creek RV Resort in Gatlinburg or River Plantation RV resort in Sevierville. I guess I am wondering if it would be more advantageous to go farther south to Gatlinburg or have a closer drive from Mich in Sevierville and just drive to Gatlinburg for day trips. Is there more to do in Gatlinburg or Sevierville? The trip will be with my wife and 17 year old son. Thanks for any info...
Pigeon Forge is between Gatlinburg & Sevierville & would be more centraly located. Lot to do in all three locations. Also might consider going over to Townsend for a little more peace & quiet & also Cades Cove if you like the natural outdoors.
Be careful & enjoy.
gasman - River Plantation is on the "south" end of Sevierville nearly in Pigeon Forge Spent a few days at River Plantation last fall and will go there again I can not comment on the Twin Creek as I have not stayed there Depending on time of your travel into Gatlinburg on the Parkway there may be heavy traffic I'm sure more experienced PF/Gatlinburg campers will give better info
