Things Needed for new Class C

Just picked up a new Forester 2431S 25 ft class C. It only came with a long 30 amp electric cable. Any suggestions on what else we will need for our first camping trip starting around January 1st?

Wow you are asking for a lot (long list)!

Sewer hoses - you will want to drain the holding tanks (grey water and black water)

Fresh water hose to fill the "fresh water holding tank". Depending where you are camped a 15' hose will do but I have needed up to 200' before.

Cat 6 cable to hook up to campground cable if available.

That will get you off to a good start. You will find a lot of other items that you will need and some you will just want. I will let the many other members of the forum fill you in.

toilet paper, I use the same stuff for the house, no issues.
a broom and dust pan, the amount of dirt the camper collects is astonishing.
s'mores fixens, it's not camping without them.
beer, same as above.
water pressure regulator for hooking up to city water.

All the above and if you don't have leveling jacks some type of RV leveling blocks, or just a few 12" or 16" long pieces of 2x6 to drive up on? And of coarse as most have mentioned your favorite beverage! and maybe some BACON!

Congratulations on your new rig. I have the larger sister, a 2801qs, on order. The fun now is buying all new stuff to put in it.

One of the best startup mods I did was install a screen door bar. See Screen Door Cross Bar - Black Handle - Camco 42183 - Screen Doors - Camping World

Your absolutely list of "needs" for a first trip isn't very extensive.

Learn To RV: Newbie - First Trip Essentials

Your list of "should haves" and "want to haves" is extensive.

New class c

All the things said and a cover for your front and side widows can get from camping world for privacy instead of using that curtain that comes with them

First trip in your new MH should be in your drive way.... Yes your driveway.

Why, so you don't have to go so far to get the stuff you need. When you go to cook and are missing a piece of equipment go in the house and get it... and put it in the MH or on your list of what to buy and is needed. After the weekend is done. GO to Wal-Mart or whatever and take the list.

Everything above, you'll need some tank deodorizer chemical for your black water tank. Without it in the tank it will get pretty odoriferous quickly. And just for good measure, either some heavy duty rubber gloves (DW uses for washing dishes) or the inexpensive one-use type in the pharmacy section @ the store. Wrestling around the sewer hose has the habit of getting all over your hands.

Medium size hatchet and a mallet style hammer for splitting fire wood - use cautiously - don't chop your fingers off . .news paper or fire starters . . for safety, try & not use charcoal lighter fluid . . about had to put a guy out a few years ago, was scary. . .

Like the guys said, a batch of humor, adult beverages, bacon . .take your time, no hurry, and just have fun. .

A doormat.
Lawn chairs
Maybe an adaptor to 15 amp service.
A box of basic tools
Campfire starting supplies: hatchet, newspaper, matches. ...for those s'mores.
Some 2x6 wood pieces for leveling.
A tablet to list all the stuff you wish you had during that first trip. There are good lists online for interior stocking up.

Stayed in a CG in OR. in June this year, they required the black and gray sewer hose be off the ground.

You will likely find a few uses for this.

Duck Brand Select Easy Liner Shelf Liner, 12" x 10', Light Grey - Walmart.com

Some between pots and pans, if you use real plates some between them will hold them in place.

Gorilla tape, a roll might come in handy.

One of these for when you need both hands.

Get a brass 90 degree elbow for your hose connection and a water pressure regulator for you FW hose. Your fresh water tank pressure should not exceed 40 lbs.
