I have a 2007 Forester 3161S and we love it. Bought it from RV Direct and so far problem free!

09 Charleston

Hello all,
Just got my 09 Charleston 40' unit. Traded in my brand new 5th wheel that we used twice (what a kick I took on that). We have had the unit out once, and a few small problems, but I am pretty happy so far. Will be taking it on a longer trip this coming weekend, we will see how it works. Getting about 10MPG, drives like a dream, plenty of room for us and our 4 dogs. My wife not too happy about the sleeper couches, but I guess we should have opened them up before we bought it. They are both identical and pretty small. I love the kubota generator, the cummins engine, and the freightliner chassis. The small issues we have are the satellite unit does not work, they tell me the cable from the unit to the switch inside is shorted out (a cable is on order). The door in the bedroom falls off - apparently becasue the mirror they have on it is too heavy for the rails, so the solution is forget the mirror and Forrest River is sending us a door with no holes where the mirror was. The video cables from the living room to the bedroom tv are not connected. Even the dealer has no clue how to fix that, we are waiting on engineers at Forrest River.
Anyone have direct email contact info for Forrest River?
Thanks all, "Talk" to you later.....

Windsong - 34'

We have a 2002 Windsong Class A. It's a nice unit and suits us well. However, Forest River sure put some cheap components in their rigs. I've had to replace broken drawer glides, straighten drawer mounts that were installed crooked, install hold opens on overhead cabinets and am still struggling to correct the fresh water overflow location.

We have a 2007 Georgetown 370. Purchased at 2006 Hershey RV Show. There were quite a few minor issues with it that took some time to get resolved. Defective Radio that blew a fuse buried in the dash. 2 DVD Home Theatre Units. Shorted cable wires from rear of coach. A missing counter extension that took 3 shipments to get the right color. A fog light that just fell off. I'm sure all manufacturers have their problems but it seems that a thorough final quality check before allowing the unit to be shipped should be done. Everything was taken care of under warranty, a few I did myself rather than travel 252 miles round trip to get it done. Otherwise we have really enjoyed our purchase. I highly recommend adding air spring bags to the chassis. This really helped to stop any sway from passing trucks. I do have one complaint and ask your opinion and it is " Why doesn't Forest River provide some type of owner's manual binder with the complete set of manuals included"? My sink was full of booklets. I had 5 copies of the Convertor manual, 10 copies of the Transfer / Generator start info. But nothing about the Acrtic Pack. It took quite a while to sort all of this stuff.

As far as I know it was made as 35' and 38' models and is a dieael pusher on a Freightliner chassis.

Mine had several problems to start with but they have been cured with lots of my work and some help from freightliner. Not much help from FR.
I GOT ONE! I noticed the same thing here and on the road. We love ours, we just bought it. It's a 35 foot 327s DP. How do you like yours?

2008 Berkshire here (pic above). Have had it 2 years now with some issues (slide out problems, side cameras fogging, shower doors come out of track and a few other things), but overall, very happy with unit.
