Kind of a new guy with Class A motorhomes. I am keeping my 2004 Georgetown 326ds at home now. We had our driveway widened and a parking area for the motorhome built a few weeks ago. Was just wondering, when it's parked at home can we put the jacks down and the slides out and leave it that way? Just kind of curious. Thanks!!!

Yes you can, just be aware that you may have to clean the rams on the jacks before you lift them. This will stop any dirt particles that accumulate on them while sitting there. It would be a good idea to lubricate them with something also to stop any corrosion.
I wouldn't for an extended period of time (months). I cut 2x10's and placed them 3 wide under the back wheels to get mine approximately level so I could run the fridge before a trip and put the slides out when I need them.

I have been told not to store an rv with the slides extended
What was the reasoning behind that? Lots of campers are either stored or slid out for long periods of time. Take full-timers for instance, I would regularly have mine in a campground on the coast with slides open for the summer months.
Unless the RV is branded a "full-time" unit, it should be stored with the slides in and with the weight slightly off the tires and on some material which does not hold water. I use cutting boards, using my jacks to slightly take some of the weight off. Also, cover at least one vent with a Maxi-Cover and leave it open for ventilation.

I believe it is up to each individual owner to store his/her RV how they see fit. But remember these RVs sit on dealers lots for months at a time with open slides and sitting on their wheels usually on rocks or grass without the jacks deployed.
Ours is on seasonal site for summer and all slides left out with toppers on each - have three maxxair vents always open too - stored all slides in when winterized and maxxairs left open - parked on 2x10's with all jacks down on boards also - in grass yard next to house
For me it's about mud daubers and other pests. Slides extended gives them more places to build a nest and they also seem to find a pathway into the RV through gaps in the seals around the slides.
With slides retracted the RV is just better sealed up from pests. Not pest proof, but still better.
