I just bought a 2013 Sunseeker 3170DS. It has the Magnadyne M4-LCD in dash dvd player, but did not come with the remote. Before I shell out $50 for a replacement, I thought I would see if anyone has programmed a universal remote to control this.
If its like my sun seeker, and I have the magnadyne radio, it has its own remote. It is a cheap piece of **** and doesn't work well. I wouldn't pay 50.00 for it thats for sure. Try a universal and if it doesn't work take it back. Let me know how it works out.
I disagree. The remote has a lot of neat features that you won't get in a universal one (even if you could get one to work). It only shows as only costing $24.95 on the Magnadyne website.
Or, shell out another $125 on top of the $50 and replace that entire unit. You'd be amazed at how good some of these aftermarket head units are compared to that Magnadyne.

I won't be spending money on the magnadyne remote. This unit doesn't seem to be that great. The GPS powers off and on sporadically, and it has locked up a few times so that I had to reset it with the small button on the front.
I have downloaded the firmware fix that is suppose to resolve the navigation power problems, but haven't got around to installing it yet. If that doesn't work I will be looking into an aftermarket unit.
